My love for music goes back to when I was about 8 years old with my Dad showing me bands like AC/DC, Black Sabbath, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. I loved the heavy energy that these artists had. This led me to a decade long music pursuit in which I explored Rock and Heavy Metal and all that surrounded it, from Gorgoroth to Pearl Jam. However, it was in my teenage years that my interest in synthesisers and sound design came to fruition. The concept of synthesising sound using voltages and organic materials made me think about music in a whole new way. I would spend countless evenings up all night twiddling knobs and shaping sounds on various synthesizers and drum machines, as well as designing and building my own custom analog synthesizers.

My interest in Dance Music, especially Bass Music, began in my time at University where I studied Music production, receiving a degree from The University of Sussex. It was here that I was exposed to UK Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Jungle, IDM, Electro, Techno, House, UK Garage, Grime, and everything in between. In between lectures and partying, I was experimenting with music and different production approaches, writing music ranging from Ambient and Glitch to Jungle and Techno. 

 

Upon my graduation, where I graduated with a First Class Honours in Music Production, I spent a couple of years building up experience of producing sound design products for both Loopmasters and Ninja Tune. And as we come full circle, my concept for Element One came into fruition when I decided to put the skills I had developed into building my own company. There is still so much great music and possibilities available to explore within sound. I'm now in my late 20s, and running Element One continues to be an exciting and inspiring endeavour in which there is room for me to experiment.
